All our winners were very excited to be selected to receive a scholarship from Centra Foundation. Some couldn’t believe that they were a winner of a $1,000 Loretta M. Burd scholarship. All were very grateful for the honor.
High School Winners
Gabriella Galvan – Jennings County High School
Will pursue a nursing degree at IUPUI and aims to become a Pediatric Nurse Practiioner. In her thank you letter Gabby told us:
Thank you for choosing me as one of the Loretta M. Burd Scholarship recipients. I am beyond grateful for your generosity, and I am extremely excited to begin my studies with your help this fall.
College has always been a dream of mine and is now becoming a wonderful reality. However, I had not given much thought to the actual cost of college and its magnitude until I began filling out scholarship applications such as this one my senior year. The cost of college is very much real, and is something I plan to meet head on with smart and wise financial decisions. I can confidently say that applying for this scholarship was most definitely a wise decision.
I cannot thank you enough for your support, and I will make it a personal goal of mine to continue making smart financial choices as a Centra Credit Union member. Thank you once again for not only supporting my education but believing in me as well.
