Your child may be eligible for free tuition to attend an Indiana state college! Some colleges also offer housing support.
Indiana’s 21st Century Scholars Program offers income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university after they graduate from high school. Students must register for the program by June 30th of their eighth grade year. In middle and high school, 21st Century Scholars are connected to programs and resources to help them prepare for college. Once in college, Scholars receive support to complete their college degrees and connect to career opportunities.
To apply for the 21st Century Scholars Program students must:
Be a resident of Indiana, both when applying and when Be one of the following:
- U.S. citizen or U.S. national
- U.S. permanent resident
- Be enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade at an Indiana public or private school accredited by the Indiana Department of Education. Children in foster care may apply after the 8th grade. Homeschooled students are not eligible for the 21st Century Scholars Program.
- Be a member of a family that meets the income eligibility guidelines. A student in foster care does not need to meet this requirement. Maximum income of $37,296 for a family of three
